Stoneyburn Juniors v Pumpherston Juniors : 17.04.2010
An amazing game from Stoneyburn's Beechwood Park took place this afternoon. With the wind whipping it's way across the park conditions were difficult to say the least but Stoneyburn took advantage scoring first through Doonan. Doonan doubled his and Stoneyburn's tally minutes later and sealed his hat trick before half time to give Stoneyburn a seemingly unsurmountable lead. Game over Pumpherston? Not quite...After the restart Pumpherston were looking to make amends and recent signing Muir gave the first indication of a comeback when he netted shortly after the restart. Muirs impression on the game continued as he looked to emulate Doonan's first half goal glut, grabbing his and Pumpherston's second 25 minutes later. With the wind literally in their sails Pumpherston went on the hunt for the equaliser but this turned out to be the away sides undoing as Stoneyburn's Pritchard scored on the break to sound the death knell for Pumpherston's comeback.
A valliant effort from Pumpherston to overturn a 3 goal deficit and Muir will surely go on to cause many more problems for defences in the Bukta East Region South Division teams.
