NOVEMBER 08 NEWSLETTER

Although it is only last month since we issued a newsletter there is so much going on at the club at the moment we felt that we should update you on the following:

A big thanks to all those who braved the weather and took part in our sponsored walk.

We are currently still collecting money in but will let you know the total raised in our next newsletter or on our new website! (see over)

You will now all be aware that the bag packing will take place on Saturday 29 November at Tesco, Bathgate between 10am and 6pm. If you do not have a time slot as yet please see one of your team reps.

Please make sure that all children are dressed in their strips (if clean) and Pumpherston United tracksuits.

For those starting at 10am please arrive about 10 minutes earlier to allow us to be organised.

Some of you might have heard that we have recently achieved our Accreditation status as a Community Club from West Lothian Council. This is a great achievement for the club as the Council have strict criteria on Health & Safety, coaching qualifications, Child Protection etc. Congratulations to all those involved for all their hard work.

Councillor Frank Anderson has kindly agreed to attend at Pumpherston Park on Sunday 14 December at 11am to present the award to the club.

Could all children please attend on that day as we will get photographs taken of all the children involved with the Club. The soccer school will also be invited to attend.

Please wear your strips and tracksuits on that day.

We will send the photographs to the Courier so please make an effort to come along.

The Christmas Bowling will be at Deer Park on Sunday 28 December at 2pm and will last approx 2 hours. The cost per child will be £5. Brothers and sisters of the team members are also welcome to attend.

Please complete the attached and return to your team rep by Saturday 6 December (on handout newsletters).

The deposits for the tournament have now been paid and accommodation has been booked.

The balance has to be paid by the end of January and you will be notified of this by your team rep.

Our web site is now up and running and Pumpherston United would like to say a big thanks to Davie Charles (dad of one of our Under 14’s team) for all his hard work in achieving this and also for his continuing work in keeping the site updated. Davie is looking for a volunteer from the Under12’s & Under 11’s teams to update their match reports section. Please let us know if you are interested in helping with this.

Hopefully if parents can regularly visit the web site it will save notes having to be handed out as all important dates and information can be viewed on the website.
