
Pumpherston United FC became one of the latest youth football clubs to be recognised for their valuable contribution to Scottish grassroots football during an awards presentation on the 8th of January 2011.
Club Chairman Kevin McGuigan and Head coach Jimmy Johnston proudly accepted a Scottish FA Quality Mark Standard Award at a special awards presentation at Hibernian's Easter Road Stadium.
The Award forms part of the Quality Mark Accreditation Scheme run by the Scottish FA in partnership with McDonald’s which recognises proactive clubs and schools working to increase youth and community participation.
The Scottish FA Quality Mark is a youth football initiative which supports grassroots club development. With over 400 Scottish clubs and schools already participating, over 8500 coaches have directly benefited from coach development and first aid training to date. In order to receive the award Clubs have to meet strict criteria in areas such as coach and player development, club management, administration, welfare, and planning.

Pumpherston United Football Club are very proud to have achieved
Access Level in West Lothian Council's Community Sports Club Development Scheme.
Councillor Frank Anderson presents the framed Access Level certificate to Pumpherston United players, coaches and officials.
Everyone associated with the club is delighted to have achieved this status and see this as the next step on the road for the development of Pumpherston United FC.
The club achieved the accreditation on Monday 10th November 2008 following a recent inspection by a West Lothian Council Cultural Services representative.
The certificate confirms that Pumpherston United has demonstrated appropriate levels of efficiency in Child Protection, Good Coaching Practice, Club Management and First Aid.
The acknowledgement also stands as a testament to all the hard work put in so far by all the coaches and officials of Pumpherston United Football Club.
